When you go to Lombardia it is almost mandatory to visit Lago di Como (Lake Como), one of the most beautiful and known lakes in Europe. The lake is shaped like inverted Y. Along the lakeshore there are quite a few different small villages and all of them are stunning. So, the next day after visiting Bergamo we chose to visit two of the villages of Lake Como – Varenna and Bellagio – with a stunning boat trip in between. In my opinion this is one of the highlights of our trip to Northern Italy. I could try to describe you all that I saw but I wouldn’t find the precise words to describe or feel the perfection of the place. So I let you appreciate some photos that we took instead.

VARENNA
It was early in the morning when we left Bergamo towards Varenna. We went by train all the way starting fromBergamo’s central station but actually had to change trains at Lecco, a small city in between.
This is a very important detail if you intend to go to Varenna from Bergamo. The second train stops very close to Varenna and it is easy to walk to the village from the station. 
We actually left our visit of Varenna for bit later in the day. We immediately rushed to the small harbor nearby to take the next ferry to Bellagio and still appreciate our boat trip with plenty of sunlight.
It was around 4 p.m. when we were back to Varenna and we still had plenty of time to visit this beautiful village and to catch a beautiful sunset.
BELLAGIO
Visiting the village of Bellagio is like living a fairy tale in the real life. All of those pictures of Bellagio that we see on the Internet and in some movies, all of that is true and I saw through my eyes.
Bellagio is a small village and I am sure that a couple of hours would be enough to visit practically everything. 
That view of the village while arriving on the boat is one of the most beautiful images I’ve ever seen.
While in Bellagio I wanted to try a gelato. We ended up having one in one of the simplest places I’ve ever been to in Italy. It was in the oldest ice cream shop in the Village, the Pasticceria/Gelattaria – Caffe Bar Sport – opened in 1919. I know, the name reminds us of a place owned by a old guy with Italian football always on the Television. Well , I really was served by a old Sir and there were more two, also old. They were really kind and maybe the place still keeps in family. What a treasure! Street: Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. It’s like they stopped in time and most of the decorations were keep there in some way. Those ice cream flavors were stupidly marvelicious! It’s perfect for a break after taking a walk through the village.
How to go: Varenna and Bellagio
– To Varenna: Take a train from Bergamo until Varenna (switch train in Leco).
– To Bellagio: Take a boat from Varenna to Bellagio
Quando se vai para Lombardia, é obrigatório visitar o Lago di Como, um dos lagos mais belos e famosos da Europa. O lago tem a forma de um Y invertido. Ao longo do lago existem várias pequenas aldeias e todas são deslumbrantes. Depois de visitar Bérgamo, escolhemos visitar duas das aldeias do Lago de Como – Varenna e Bellagio – com uma deslumbrante viagem de barco no meio.O passeio de barco, foi sem dúvida, um dos destaques da nossa viagem ao norte da Itália. Poderia tentar descrever tudo o que vi, mas não encontraria as palavras certas para definir a perfeição daquele lugar.
VARENNA
Era ainda cedo, pela manhã quando saímos de Bergamo em direcção a Varenna. Fomos de comboio desde a estação central de Bérgamo e trocámos de comboio em Lecco, uma pequena cidade no meio, que não tivemos tempo de visitar. Este é um detalhe muito importante para quem pretende ir para Varenna de comboio a partir de Bergamo. O segundo comboio pára já dentro de Varenna e é muito fácil andar até ao centro vila.
Decidimos deixar a nossa visita por Varenna para o final do dia. Corremos imediatamente para o porto para apanhar o barco para Bellagio para poder aproveitar a viagem de barco com muita luz.

Eram cerca das 16h quando voltámos para Varenna e ainda tivemos muito tempo para visitar a aldeia e ainda a oportunidade de ver um pôr-do-sol mágico.
BELLAGIO
Visitar a vila de Bellagio é como viver um conto de fadas na vida real. Todas as fotos de Bellagio que vemos na Internet e em alguns filmes, são reais e aquele lugar existe mesmo. E eu pude ver com os meus olhos.
Bellagio é uma pequena aldeia e diria que um par de horas é suficiente para visitar praticamente tudo.

A vista de Bellagio ao chegar no barco é uma das imagens mais bonitas que já vi na vida.

Estando na Itália, quis comer um gelato. E acabámos por comer um num dos estabelecimentos mais simples em que já estive na Itália. Foi na mais antiga loja de gelados da vila, a Pasticceria / Gelattaria – Caffe Bar Sport – inaugurado em 1919. O nome lembra-nos um lugar de um velhote ao balcão com futebol italiano sempre a passar na televisão. Bem, fui realmente servida por um senhor idoso e havia mais dois. Todos muitos amáveis, talvez todos familiares que mantêm o negócio. Que tesouro! Fica na Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. É como se eles tivessem parado no tempo e onde havia muitas decorações antigas. Aqueles sabores do gelado eram estupidamente deliciosos! Perfeito para uma pausa depois de uma caminhada por Bellagio.
