AMALFI //
Continuing our trip along the Amalfi Coast – after leaving Vietri Sul Mare the real adventure begun. It was a crazy bus trip along the coast towards the town of Amalfi. I say and highlight it was a crazy trip because the driver was also a little bit nuts speeding along those endless curves. Geez it was something unforgettable. Not only because of the curvy roads – the scenario was amazing with great views of the cliffs filled lemon trees.
How to go: If you are arrive by plane to the airport of Naples, you can take a bus directly to Amalfi.
To do: Visit the Cathedral in the main square; go to the amazing beach and harbour; get lost on the little streets; drink a natural lemonade and eat a gelato; buy a souvenir (or dozens of them) in the zillions of souvenir shops :)
To stay: Villa Lara Hotel
To eat: you can’t skip the seafood in Il Tari Ristorante, omg.
RAVELLO
It was during our stay in the town of Amalfi that we visited Ravello. It is a smaller town in the mountains around 365 meters above the sea in Amalfi Coast. We took a bus from Amalfi and I must say that the bus trip itself was already breathtaking as we went up and up in the mountains. It was amazing but also wild because those million curves were driving me dizzy. The beauty began immediately when we arrived but with a mix of feelings , as I was really dizzy from the bus ride. I also felt weird and had some troubles to breath normally- I guess because of the sudden difference in altitude.
Around half a hour after I started feeling better and breathing properly. I was finally able to appreciate Ravello and to see everything around me. And it was just too marvelous to be real. But hat’s how magic works, right? You first get surprised, perplexed and then we then you started actually start noticing at all details and believing in what you are seing.
The whole town is like a huge viewpoint to the magnificent landscape under the mountains and towards the sea. I didn’t take any picture that can show you what I saw, but I tried. I am pretty sure that I spent most of the time with my mouth open like a kid entering in a giant candy shop.
There isn’t a lot to do since there is a really small place. A day or half a dayIt would enough to see most of it. Take your time to have a wonder around, to eat and drink something in one of the most beautiful terraces on Earth and pick one of the magnificent villas to visit. We visited Villa Cimbrone. We chose it because it looked the most beautiful villa even though there were other that also looked great and that we would have loved to visit too (maybe next time).
Since our first step inside Villa Cimbrone, it felt like entering in a portal to heaven. Every single corner is charming to watch and the view to the sea is astonishing. In my humble opinion this is one of those places to visit before you die. Take a peek on some of the photos I took and start dreaming.
How to go: Take the local bus from the Amalfi to Ravello. In Amalfi, you can buy the ticket in a kiosk or one of the convenience stores next to the harbour.
To eat/drink: Get a Aperol Spritz and something small to eat in one of the terraces in the main square. It’s marvelous to get those amazing sun rays coming from the Gods or the God or any other extraordinary being you believe in!
AMALFI
Continuando a nossa viagem pela Costa Amalfitana e depois de deixar Vietri Sul Mare, fomos até Salerno e aventura começou. Foi uma viagem louca de autocarro pela costa até à cidade de Amalfi. Digo e destaco que foi uma viagem alucinante porque o motorista era um bocado tonto e passava o tempo a acelerar nas curvas e contracurvas infinitas. Foi uma viagem inesquejável pelas curvas e mau condutor, mas também pela vista magnífica sobre quilómetros de limoeiros e zonas verdes.
Como ir: se acabas de chegar ao Aeroporto de Nápoles, basta apanhar um autocarro diretamente até Amalfi.
O que fazer: visitar a catedral na praça principal; ir à praia; perder-se nas pequenas ruas; beber uma limonada natural e comer um gelato; comprar um souvenir (ou dezenas deles) nos zilhões de lojas de souvenirs pela cidade :)

Onde comer: impossível perder um prato feito com marisco no restaurante Il Tari, meu Deus.
RAVELLO
Foi durante a nossa estadia na cidade de Amalfi que visitámos Ravello. É uma pequena cidade a cerca de 365 metros acima do mar na Costa Amalfitana. Apanhámos um taxi desde de Amalfi e devo dizer que toda a viagem foi de tirar o fôlego enquanto estávamos a subir mais e mais. Foi tão incrivel, como louco, porque mais milhões de curvas deixaram-me completamente tonta. A magia começou quando chegámos lá a cima. Com uma mistura de sentimentos – eu estava realmente tonta até com dificuldades em respirar, uma vez que o lugar é realmente muito alto.
Cerca de meia hora passou e pude então começar a ver com clareza e a respirar bem. Finalmente consegui apreciar Ravello e era demasiado maravilhoso para ser real. É assim a magia, não é? Primeiro ficamos surpresos, perplexos e só depois começamos a ver e a acreditar.
Toda a cidade é um miradouro enorme sob uma paisagem magnífica. Não tirei nenhuma foto que possa mostrar o que vi, mas tentei. Tenho a certeza de que passei a maior parte do tempo com a boca aberta como uma criança quando entra numa loja de doces gigante.
Não há muito para fazer, uma vez que Ravello é lugar pequeno. Algumas horas são suficientes para visitar o local. O tempo resume-se a muito passeio; comer e beber algo numa das esplanadas mais bonitas deste mundo; perdermo-nos um pouco e escolher uma das 2 Villas com jardins saídos do paraíso, para visitar. Visitamos a Villa Cimbrone. Achámos que esta seria a mais bonita, mesmo que ambas sejam mágicas e ficámos com pena de não visitar a outra.
Desde o primeiro momento em que pisámos a Villa Cimbrone, senti como se estivéssemos a entrar num portal para o céu. Cada centímetro é encantador e a vista é mesmo surpreendente. Na minha humilde opinião, este é um daqueles lugares a visitar antes de morrer. Dá uma olhadela em algumas fotos que tirei e perde-te a sonhar.
Como ir: apanhar um autocarro na cidade de Amalfi e comprar o bilhete num quiosque ou uma loja/papelaria ao lado da praia.
Para comer / beber: Deliciar-se com um Spritz e algo para comer na esplanada no meio da praça principal. É maravilhoso receber aqueles raios de sol incríveis, dos deuses ou de Deus, extraordinário.
