Vietri Sul Mare was the first place I visited when I went to Italy for the first time. I stayed there for three days. This is the second post about my first journey in Italy along the Amafi Coast.Even though this is a part II of my trip, Vietri was actually the first town I have visited as I said before. Vietri Sul Mare is a beautiful place located in the south of Italy in the Campania province and is part of the Salerno region – around 10 km from city of Salerno.That is a small town, super quiet (not many tourists) and peaceful. Perfect to relax and enjoy little things and that is what I did. I explored every corner of it and took the time to read a book.I spent a few days there (three days) but one day or two should be enough to visit the place because this is a tiny town. Of course it is perfect if you want/need to rest but don’t expect a lot to do.Vietri Sul Mare is known by its traditional ceramics and its colorful ceramic art pieces that you can find along the town. They are literaly everywhere, even in the blue sea, as suggested by the name of the town which translates to “Glasses on the Sea”. These tiny and colorful pieces of glass are easy to spot on the beach laying on the sand close the water. Vietri Sul Mare is also known for being considered the gateway to the Amalfi coast. I really can say it is like a first beautiful preview of the coast. If you are about to visit Amalfi zone, don’t miss this treasure.How to get there: I took a bus from Napoli to Salerno and then a taxi to Vietri.

Lunch: 
– Evù restaurant – sit outside eating a salad and appreciate the old Corso Umberto street during your lunch.
– Risto Southeast – Get a pizza outside with a view to a little square. Very traditional and yummy! Of course i got a Margherita

Dinner: La Sosta restaurant – the foodis amazing (specially the fish) and the employees there are super nice.

To do:
– Take a walk, get lost and explore the village;
– Visit the Pottery Museum – Museu della Ceramica

Vietri Sul Mare foi o primeiro lugar que visitei quando fui para a Itália pela primeira vez. Apesar deste post ser a II parte da minha primeira viagem à Itália, Vietri foi na verdade a primeira terra que visitei. Vietri Sul Mare é uma aldeia muito bonita localizada no sul da Itália na província de Campania e faz parte do distrito de Salerno – fica a cerca de 10 km de Salerno.

é uma cidade pequena, bastante pacífica (sem muitos turistas) e muito tranquila. Perfeita para relaxar e desfrutar de pequenas coisas e foi o que eu fiz. Explorei todos os cantos,; tive tempo para ler um livro e principalmente no segundo dia, foi sobretudo sobre descobrir.

Embora tenha ficado lá 3 dias, na minha opinião devo dizer que um ou dois dias são suficientes para visitar o lugar porque é, de facto, uma cidade pequena. Claro que é perfeito para descansar, mas não esperem muito para fazer como actividades quer turisticas, quer culturais.

Vietri Sul Mare é conhecida pela sua cerâmica tradicional e pelas suas cores pela aldeiaadentro. Também é conhecida por ser considerada a porta de entrada para a costa de Amalfi. Eu realmente posso dizer que é como uma intruducao mágica da costa. Se você está prestes a visitar a zona de Amalfi, não perca este tesouro.

Como chegar lá: fomos de autocarro desde Nápoles para Salerno e depois um táxi para Vietri.

Almoço:
– Restaurante Evù: ideal para desfrutar de uma salada na esplanada e apreciar a antiga rua Corso Umberto I durante o almoço.
– Risto Southeast – Impossível não pedir uma pizza para a esplanada com vista para uma pequena praceta. Obviamente pedi uma Margerita :)

Jantar: restaurante La Sorta – a comida é maravilhosa e os funcionários são incrivelmente simpáticos.

O que fazer:
– Caminhar e perder-se explorando a aldeia;
– Visitar o Museu da Cerâmica – Museu della Ceramica
